Back with some holiday spirit!

I'm finally done with my exam and I finally have time to do things again! Somehow the whole world went to christmas mood while I was studying and the streets are full of christmas lights and decorations. When I checked the calendar to start complaining that it was way before time, it somehow had managed to turn only days before December, and there was no reason to complain.

So instead I have dived into the Christmas spirit and I entertain myself with figuring out pretty ways to wrap presents and decorate the home. It's only two months left until I go traveling around the world and my time will be filled with work during the day and painting, crafting and photography during the evening. I am truly looking forward to not doing homework when I come home and I think this will be a nice couple of months. I will also have more time to this blog and I plan to update it with various christmas ideas and projects along the way.

What are you looking forward to do until Christmas?

I have a very serious exam coming up so I will be off the internet for some time.
I'll be back December 1. st with a lot of gift ideas and holiday inspiration, so until then have a super day!

Do it yourself

Lately I've been really into DIY projects. I find so many great tutorials through pintrest and it really gets my creativity going. My latest project has been to crocket this infinity scarf. I have only ever crochet once before, so this was quite a project for me. I went to a yarn store and got some help with choosing yarn and after a lot of googling to understand the directions, I started. I finished it last night and I am super happy. I had to make some changes to the pattern (mine goes only one time around but it's higher) but all in all I am
really pleased.

I used yarn of merio and alpacka wool in a warm brown, and even though it was a bit expensive, the scarf is super soft and very warm which was what I was aiming for. I will definitively use it a lot this winter! If you want to make your own, the directions are here. This would make an amazing christmas gift!

Photography on a Sunday afternoon # 3

These are some pictures from earlier this autumn when the sunlight was bright and the fields behind our house golden. The last couple of weeks have been grey and foggy. It's been cold and rainy and time for tee and inside activities. Hopefully we'll see some sunlight soon, but until then I have these memories.

Autumn essentials: Scarves

My mom has always used a lot of scarves and I have grown up with admiring her colorful collection. I guess this is one of the reasons why I have such a love for them myself. For me a scarf is the perfect accessory. It can brighten up, add color to and complete an outfit, it can make you look more casual or more dressed up and if that is not enough it also keeps you warm!

I must admit that I have quite a few scarves myself, both light, silky ones for warmer weather and a couple of really warm ones for the cold norwegian winter. But even though I have a lot of them I actually end up using every single one quite a lot. The money I spend in a nice scarf is often a lot better spent than if I were to by any other item of clothing, because I make sure that one scarf goes with a lot of different outfits. Here is a collection of some of the scarves I have been looking at lately, but right now I'm making this crochet infinity scarf so I don't think I'll buy any new ones too soon...
